What's Scoutbook?

To assist Scouts, parents, and leaders in keeping track of rank advancements and other awards, as well as to allow for better communications, Pack 467 has subscribed to BSA’s electronic management system known as Scoutbook. Scoutbook is a Web application that makes it easier for our Den Leaders and Committee members to manage Advancement. The benefit is that you, as a parent or guardian of a scout, can also mark off and review advancement records for your Scout. Scoutbook is mobile device friendly and an easy reference for you to see how your Scout progresses throughout the year. Scoutbook is free for parents to track their Scout. Our Pack has purchased the Pack Plan to make our Leader's jobs easier.

The highest rank & award in Cub Scouting is the Arrow of Light. It is one of the few Cub Scout badges that a Scout can wear on their Scouts BSA uniform. Scouts work on outdoor skills, physically fitness, and learn more about citizenship and working with others.
Upon completion of the requirements for Arrow of Light, a Scout can bridge into a Scouts BSA troop. Webelos Scouts that are working toward their Arrow of Light rank & award are commonly called Arrow of Light Scouts, similar to the younger ranks in Cub Scouting.
Like all other new Cub Scouts, an Arrow of Light Scout must first earn the Bobcat rank then go on to complete the requirements for the Arrow of Light rank and the many electives that are offered.

The requirements for Webelos and Arrow of Light may be worked on at the same time but the tenure requirements for each must be met and the awards must be earned and presented sequentially (if both are earned instead of just Webelos or just the Arrow of Light).

Requirements

The requirements and information necessary to earn the Webelos rank are included in the Webelos Cub Scout Handbook.

  1. Be active in your Webelos den for at least six months since completing the fourth grade or at least six months since becoming ten years old.
  2. Complete each of four required Adventures:
    • Building a Better World
    • Duty to God in Action
    • Outdoor Adventurer
    • Scouting Adventure

  1. In addition to the five required adventures listed, complete at least one elective Adventure of your den or family’s choosing for a total of at least five adventures. (See below.)
  2. With your parent or adult partner, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide, and earn the Cyber Chip award for your age.
