Scouts who are in First Grade or higher must earn their Bobcat Rank before they can earn any other rank. Becoming a Bobcat helps you learn what it means to become a Scout.
The requirements and information necessary to earn you Bobcat rank are include in every Cub Scout Handbook.
This is unique relative to other ranks in Cub Scouting. Tigers and their adult partners are just that, partners. They attend meetings together, go on adventures like field trips together, and complete requirements together.
The adult partner acknowledges the completion of each achievement part by marking it complete in Scoutbook (Akela’s OK).
The den leader also marks it as completed in Scoutbook (Den Leader’s OK) and records progress in the den’s advancement records. The Tiger Scouts also keep track of their own advancement using the Adventure Tracking section in the back of their handbooks.
The requirements and information necessary to earn the Tiger rank are included in the Tiger Cub Scout Handbook.
1. Complete each of the following Tiger-required adventures with your den or family:
2. Complete one Tiger elective adventure of your den or family’s choosing. (See below)
3. With your parent or adult partner, complete the exercises in the pamphlet How to Protect Your Children From Child Abuse: A Parent’s Guide, and earn the Cyber Chip award for your age.
To assist Scouts, parents, and leaders in keeping track of rank advancements and other awards, as well as to allow for better communications, Pack 467 has subscribed to BSA’s electronic management system known as Scoutbook. Scoutbook is a Web application that makes it easier for our Den Leaders and Committee members to manage Advancement. The benefit is that you, as a parent or guardian of a scout, can also mark off and review advancement records for your Scout. Scoutbook is mobile device friendly and an easy reference for you to see how your Scout progresses throughout the year. Scoutbook is free for parents to track their Scout. Our Pack has purchased the Pack Plan to make our Leader's jobs easier.
